appropriate officers in the Secretariat for Chinese Affairs, the District Administration New Territories, the Agriculture and Fisheries Department, and possibly the Resettlement Department should be appointed as Deputy Registrars of Marriage.
(2) If New Recommendation No. 1 is approved and im- plemented, it will be necessary to bear in mind the original White Paper Recommendation, in its paras. 22 and 37, that Section 41 of the Marriage Ordinance be reworded more appropriately. (See also Appendix D, para. 13).
(3) If New Recommendation No. 8(2)(c) and (e) is ap- proved and implemented, it will be necessary to consider giving the same officers as in (1) above the power to act. It will also be necessary to ensure that the Registrar of Marriages is kept informed of all recorded dissolutions (see last part of para. 39 in Appendix C).
(4) In implementing any Recommendation consideration be given to the possible consequential results to the children to a marriage, and where necessary to de- vising protective legislation to safeguard those interests particularly with regard to their rights of inheritance. 85. The matters discussed in this Recommendation have already been dealt with in the Introductory Remarks and other comments to the other recommendations.
