APPENDIX B (1)
RAISE HIGH THE GREAT RED BANNER OF MAO TSE-TUNG'S
THINKING AND THE GREAT BANNER OF PATRIOTISM AND
FIGHT TO THE END
Instructions from the supreme authority say: "Be resolute, fear no sacrifice, surmount every difficulty to win victory".
Yesterday, the British imperialist authorities in Hong Kong made a new, big escalation in the bloody suppression. Armed police and "anti-riot" squad police in thousands carried out a bloody suppression of our compatriots, who were going to stage a demonstration in protest, in the most frantic and cruel ways in Garden Road, in the area between the Supreme Court and Bank of China and in front of Causeway Bay and South Kowloon Magistracies. The suppression left hundreds of our compatriots injured over one hundred seriously. Those injured and forcibly arrested, as the British authorities in Hong Kong admitted, totalled 160 and more. This time the police not only used rattan shields, batons and tear gas bombs but also fired at the masses. Such a frenzied bloody suppression amounted to a slaughter, a massacre.
Following a day of large-scale suppression and massacre, the British authorities in Hong Kong announced the imposition of a curfew, thus paving the way for new terror and the continuation of suppression at night. An editorial in the afternoon edition of China Mail, mouthpiece of the British authorities in Hong Kong, frantically encouraged the bloody suppression by the British authorities in Hong Kong, slandered the Chinese patriotic newspapers as "inciting the masses to riot" and stated that the patriotic newspapers should be closed "if they continued to incite the masses". This shows that the British authorities in Hong Kong are preparing to escalate further and continue suppression in a more frenzied way including the use of force against our patriotic journals.
We may categorically tell the British authorities in Hong Kong: "The Chinese compatriots with national pride, inheriting a one hundred year old anti-imperialism tradition, armed with the thought of MAO Tse Tung, will never bow to your force and bloody suppression. We do not fear the force of heaven, earth, God, ghost or death. We will resolutely fight against you, struggle against you, pull you down and criticise you thoroughly."
"You do not allow us, the broad masses of the Chinese compatriots, to love our great mother country the People's Republic of China and our great leader,
