Scheme A

7.

SECRET

Briefly, Scheme A envisages an RAF element consisting of six pilots, some supervisory technicians and armament tradesmen; a HKAAF element to carry out first line servicing; a second line servicing being undertaken by HAEC (except for armament, weapons, safety equipment or Selective Identification Frequency (SIF)).

8.

The presence of a unit of this type would also require the addition of some support personnel to the Station establishment, and another controller at No 117 SU.

The total additional personnel requirement would be:

Scheme B

10. This alternative envisages six pilots and a lesser number of RAF supporting personnel. This reduction is made possible because all servicing (bar armaments, weapons, safety equipment and SIF) would be undertaken by HAEC, thus dispensing with a proportion of the RAF supervisory element necessitated by the HKAAF in Scheme A.
