With reference to our recent conversation on this subject, I am writing to confirm that, in view of the statement by the Deputy Chief Agent of the Impôts Department in Jersey, of which you received a copy with my letter of 16th August 1968, and of points made verbally by the Home Office indicating that the other Channel Islands are in the same position regarding trade agreements as Jersey, the Hong Kong Government is licensing cotton textile shipments to all the Channel Islands outside the quota arrangements between Hong Kong and the U.K.
I look forward to receiving in due course an answer to my letter of 13th November 1968.
