Page 2 Notice to Exporters
We presume that, in most cases, exporters will wish to pass on their additional expenses to U.K. importers and we therefore propose to instruct our London Office to collect 5% of the amount advanced (i.e. 9% per annum for six months plus 1/2% commission in lieu of exchange) before putting up the deposit. This sum will be remitted to us for the credit of exporters' £ Sterling current accounts.
We believe that this proposal is superior to any alternative arrangement which might be made to extend bills to 180.or even 210 days sight, documents against acceptanco. However, we appreciate that special circumstances will require special consideration and we propose to treat sympathetically any · reasonable proposals put to us.
If you wish us to instruct our London Office to pay the 50% deposit in the manner outlined, please add the following special instruction to covering letters accompanying each bill:-
"At drawees' request, we authorise your London
Office to advance part or all of the 50% deposit, required by the British Government, in terms of your circular letter of 2nd December, 1963 to which we agree.

If you do not wish your expenses to be collected from drawees please add the following to the above instruction:-
"Charges are for our account and should not be
collected from drawees.
If you wish-to-make an alternative-arrangement.. please contact us as soon as possible.
