Thank you for your INDIV 6/6/5 of 22nd January. Bunny Carter is away for the day and has asked me both to acknowledge your letter and to send you the second in our series of Newsletters.

2.

We were glad to see that the first Newsletter had been useful to you. We shall do our best to keep to a fortnightly timetable although of course we have already slipped by one week.

3.

Although we understand why you have kept the first Newsletter to yourself and not shown it to your colleagues, our conclusion is after careful consideration that for the future, unless there is some difficulty of which we are not aware, it would be wise if you showed the letter at least to Rounthwaite, the Information Officer. I do not know if you are aware that he has recently written to Guidance Department complaining that he is not fully briefed, but in any case it seems to us that it might be helpful to him as in some sense a spokesman of the British point of view if he does have access to these Newsletters. Please let us know if there is any problem here which we do not appreciate, but other- wise we shall assume for the future that Rounthwaite has access to our material.

4.

For obvious reasons I propose now to begin the second Newsletter on a separate sheet.
