Appendix III

1) The Hong Kong cost content per square yard allocated to loomstate materials must correspond exactly to the cost indicated in column (d) of Appendix II or IIA for the construction of material concerned,

finishes must correspond exactly to the costs shown in Appendix I for the processes concerned. No processing costs other than those

These listed shown in Appendix I may be included in a costing. costs include allowance for ancillary processes such as desizing, singeing, scouring, 'calendering, stentering and inspection.

3) If any applicant wishes to claim a high Hong Kong cost content per

square yard for a special type of weave that is not shown in Appendix II or IIA (such as special dobby weaves) prior written approval for this must be sought from the Department before the costing is prepared. Similarly, if applicants wish to claim higher costs per square yard for special finishing processes, prior written approval should be obtained from the Department before such costs are included in the costings. Your attention is drawn to Appendix I to the new costs for permanent press. Certain groups of finishes have been found to be mutually exclusive and these now cannot be claimed in respect of the same fabric (see also the footnotes to Appendix I):-

(1) Sanforising, schreiner and pre-shrinking.

(2) Napping one side and napping two sides.

(3) Optical white treatment and dyeing.
