Opening Session (Plenary)
10.30 a.m., Tuesday, 22nd April 1969
Mr. Jordan welcomed the Swedish delegation to Hong Kong and expressed the hope that the draft agenda for the discussions, and the programme of other activities, including some factory visits, would meet with the Baron de Geer's approval. He added that due to the absence of the Director on leave, he might be called upon to attend to other urgent matters. If such an eventuality should arise Mr. E.P. Ho would take over the chairmanship from him, but he hoped that such interruptions would not arise during the negotiations.
2.
Baron de Geer thankeu Mr. Jordan for his warm welcome and for the excellent arrangements made for the entire Swedish delegation which added to the fascination of their visit to Hong Kong. He said the draft agenda was also entirely acceptable, and noted the possibility that Mr. Jordan might not be present throughout the discussions.
