27th June, 1969.
It is my recollection (and David Jordan's also) that, at the discussions held in Mr. Hughes' room on 13th June 1969, it was agreed that the Industries Dept. would prepare, for study by the Hong Kong Government, figures showing imports, production, exports etc. for those clothing items where you and your colleagues considered the statistical situation to be similar to that obtaining in Sweden when Hong Kong conceded restraint, or where it might prove possible for the U.K. textile industry to claim that serious injury, or a threat theroof, existed from imports. I am now writing to seek your confirmation that this is your recollection also, and that the figures will be sent to the Hong Kong Government when they are available.
