The Consul General of Sweden presents his compliments to the Acting Director of Commerce and Industry and with reference to the exchange of letters on July 4th, 1966, regarding the introduction of the Export Authorisation system for certain non-cotton goods has the honour to inform

him as follows:

1. The Swedish Government is seriously concerned about the heavy increase in Export Licenses and outstanding Export Authorisations for certain goods referred to in the aforesaid

exchange of letters.

2. In view of the above the Swedish Government would

like the Hong Kong Government to discontinue immediately the issue of Export Authorisations for the following goods:

b) 61.02.502

c) 61.03.106.

Undergarments (other than shirts and night garments) knitted or crocheted of continuous man-made fibres, women's and girl's wear.

Blouses of continuous synthetic fibres, women's and girl's wear.

Shirts of discontinuous synthetic fibres.

Statistical data

relating to the above items have

already been submitted on March 27th, 1969 and are to be found under c) "Non-cotton garments: 1 (undergarments), 4 (blouses) and 5 (shirts)".
