At the request of the Swedish Government, the Department has, with effect from 1 p.m. on 18th April, 1969, suspended the issue of export authorizations for the following items :

Undergarments (excl. nightwear), knitted or crocheted, not elastic nor rubberized, wholly or mainly of continuous synthetic or arti- ficial fibre, women's and girls'

wear

Blouses, not knitted or crocheted, wholly or mainly of continuous or discontinuous synthetic fibres, not embroidered, women's and girls' wear (excl. blouses wholly or mainly of artificial fibre)

Dress shirts, not knitted or cro- cheted, wholly or mainly of dis- continuous synthetic fibre (excl. dress shirts wholly or mainly of artificial fibre)

The Department will, however, continue to approve and issue export licences for these items against valid export au tho- rizations which have been approved prior to suspension.
