Swedes seek continuation of restraints in year ending 30th June, 1970, except that they are prep- ared to drop women's and girls' continuous fibre sweaters. Restraint would therefore cover female wool and discontinuous synthetic knitwear, and male wool knitwear; for this slightly reduced coverage to Swedes propose a restraint level of
1,981,000 pieces
The Hong Kongers have suggested to us that they should settle for a level of
2,200,000 pieces.
N.B.
The Swedes also wish to make men's and boys' discontinuous fibre sweaters, formerly uncontrolled, subject to export authorisations. The Hong Kongers do not comment on this.
