Mr. Jordan and Mr. laerum initialled the following documents

(a)

the Memorandum of Understanding on export restraint of five items of cotton garments,

a draft letter by the Director of Commerce and Industry to the Norwegian Consul-General, proposing that the Hong Kong Government should institute a system of export authorisations for two items of cotton garments, and

a draft letter by the Director of Commerce and Industry to the Norwegian Consul-General proposing that the Hong Kong Government should institute a system of export authorisations for three items of synthetic fibre garments.

Mr. Haerum signed the following letters

an acknowledgement to Mr. Jordan's letter regarding the control of exports from Hong Kong to Norway via third countries of those items of cotton and non-cotton garments under restraint, and

an acknowledgement to Mr. Jordan's letter which contained Hong Kong's decision to restrict unilaterally export of three items of non-cotton garments.

Mr. Jordan and fir. Haerum agreed to a press statement which would be released the next day in Hong Kong.
