SAVING DESPATCH
HKK 6/358/1
From the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
To the Governor, HONG KONG.
14 April, 1969.
No. 151

Your Saving despatch No. 150 of 6 February, reference TC 222/66.
As yet no reply has been received from the Greek Authorities concerning the Note Verbale submitted to them on the subject of their restrictions against Hong Kong textile imports.
2. The Greeks have once again challenged United Kingdom restric- tions against their textile exports, and in the circumstances the chances of a favourable outcome to your own Note Verbale are, it
would seem, virtually non-existent. Our Embassy in Athens will
of course continue to prod the Greeks but we feel that you should know the difficulties to be surmounted. You will of course be
informed of any reply at once,
