Algerian Import Duties
The Note Verbale was delivered to the Algerians on
17 April, copy enclosed.
2. We are sorry you were not informed that this action
had been taken, but as yet no reply has been received.
Our Embassy in Algiers states that the Algerians very
rarely reply to Notes, and they think it quite possible
that the Algerians do not intend to reply, or to relax
their import restrictions yet. The Embassy tried last
week to telephone the responsible Algerian officials
but they were unable to raise anyone who knew of this
matter.
