Thank you for your letter of 21st September on the subject of U.A.R. Consular endorsements.

The information given you by the Consular Department of the M.F.A. seems to be at odds with the information given us here by the U.A.R. Consul General and reported in our savingram no. 44 of 29th July, 1968 to Geneva, copied to you. Does your information mean that the Presidential Decree no. 990 of 1967 on Consular fees has been revoked ?
If 80, then the sliding scale charges currently being collected here would be more than the current Cairo instructions call for and we would propose to take the matter up with the Consul General. Your advice would be appreciated.
(There is previous conserp.).
