of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong,
David Jordan, recently visited the United
Kingdom and during discussions with this
department, raised the question of U.A.R.
Consular Endorsements for Certificates of
Origin on Hong Kong imports.

At present this matter rests with Hong
Kong's letter to you of 18 October (copy
enclosed), in which the Department of Commerce
and Industry ask if the Presidential Decree
No. 990 of 1967, on Consular Fees, had been
revoked? This department has now taken over
responsibility for this matter within the
F.0.0., and we should be grateful to receive
copies of all future correspondence and, in
any particular, a copy of your reply to Hong Kong's
moont
