HKK 6/322/1

19 December 1968

The Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong, David Jordan, recently visited the United Kingdom and during discussions with this department raised the question of U.A.R. Consular Endorsements for Certificates of Origin on Hong Kong imports.

2. At present this matter seems to rest with Hong Kong's letter to you of 18 October (copy enclosed), in which the Department of Commerce and Industry asked if the Presidential Decree No. 990 of 1967, on Consular Fees, had been revoked? Since the office merger we in the Hong Kong Department have inherited the file on this subject and I should be grateful to see copies of any correspondence subsequent to this.
