JAPAN WANTS HK IMPORTS
TO INCREASE
Japan is keen to increase imports from Hongkong, Mr Ryosuke Ishikawa, leader of the Kobe City Trade Dele- gation to Hongkong, told the General Chamber of Com- merce during business discussions held at the Chamber last week.
"This represents some- thing of a change of em- phasis," Mr Ishikawa said.
"Japan is concentrating more and more on heavy in- dustry and on top quality luxury goods. This means that there is an opportunity; for keenly priced, good' quality consumer goods from Hongkong in Japan."
Mr Ishikawa thought that Hongkong-made clothing in particular would find a good market in Japan.
