HKK 6/13
Hong Kong Department

17 October, 1969
With reference to my letter of 17 September about the supply of economic and political information from certain Embassies and High Commissions, I now enclose the promised draft letter to posts.
Contrary to my original intention, it is not as yet an agreed draft here. It still has to go the rounds. But I should be very glad to have any comments from you - and the sooner the better.
I find the inclusion of the Brussels Embassy among the addressees a little odd - seeing that you have a man there. I quite understand the reason, but just wonder whether it is tactful and wise. It might be better to tackle the Brussels problem in a different way by my having a quiet word about the unhappy relationship there with the head of Western European Department?
