of 17 October enclosing your draft letter to certain Embassies and High Commissions about the supply of economic and political information. We have no comments on the draft which seems to us to be entirely suitable.

I am not too sure what the problems now are in Brussels but am quite happy to leave it to you to tackle the problem in whatever way you think most appropriate. I imagine that whatever solution you find for the Brussels Embassy should apply also to the Delegation to the European Communities. We are of course interested in getting what information we can both from the Embassy and from the Delegation. If those posts can be encouraged to pass it direct to Patrick Dodge, all the better.
