(iii) The arrangements for tariff prefer-
ences should not impede further tariff
reductions on an m.f.n. basis.
(iv) To the extent that the initial offers
tabled by other prospective donor
countries do not match those in the
attached lists, the United Kingdom
shall be free to modify its initial
offers in accordance with the burden
sharing principle, so that the pref-
erences granted will be broadly com-
parable in coverage and depth with
those of other donors.
(v) The preferences granted by the United
Kingdom shall not be binding and can
be withdrawn under the safeguard
arrangements that are generally agreed.
5. One of the considerations that' the United
Kingdom will have to bear in mind in determining
what preferences shall be granted to developing
countries is that Commonwealth developing count-
ries should receive preferential advantages in
the markets of other donor countries that will at
least compensate them for having to share the
preferences that they at present enjoy in the
United Kingdom market.
6. For the products covered by chapters 60-63
and 65 and 73.01 to 73.20 of the Brussels Nomen-
clature, other than those in list I, the United
Kingdom is prepared to grant unrestricted duty-
free entry on the same basis as for other manu-
factures and semi-manufactures but the offer on
these products is subject to the special co
