menting the equal pay scheme for the included grades subject to certain of minutes
assurances being given in respect of the reserved rights of serving officers. It is hoped that it will be possible to issue the circular with the staff side's agreement after the Council meeting on 15th September.
Promotion Prospects of Individual Grades
The Association has been told that it is intended in the ne ar future to review the structure of grades in the Medical Department and that the claims of Sister Tutors will be taken into account in this review.
Teachers Salaries
The staff side have been told they will be consulted when proposals for the introduction of a new salary structure for teachers are completed. This matter has become inextricably bound up with equal pay.
Leave Accumulation by Local Officers
As minutes 43/1 to 43/2 of the meeting of 16th June show, this matter is currently under review and we now await further propo- sals from the staff side.
Education Allowances for Children of Local Officers
This difficult subject has not been lost sight of in the general examination of the conditions of service of local officers. Extension of the present eligibility for quarters and the possibility of introducing limited eligibility for passages, subjects which the local officers staff associations have themselves stated to be of great priority than education allowances, are currently under close examination.
Salaries of Re-employed Pensioners
In para. 1(iv) of the note of the H.K.C.C.S.A. meeting with Mr. Daniel Jones, M.P. it is said that there has been no reply to the Association's request for clarification of policy on this. This is incorrect. The Association's question was answered in a letter dated 15th February 1968 and since then there has been no further communi- cation from the Association on the subject.
