The humble Petition of bhung Wak- leeing, President, for and on behalf of the Hong Kong Chinese Civil Servants' Association having a registered address at Room G14, Central Government Offices (Main Wing), Lower Albert Road, Idong Kong :-
Petitioner is the President of the Idong Kong Chinese bivil Servants' Association which was registered in Idong Kong before the War as a staff Association and 14th May 1949 it was reorganized and registered
as a Trade Union under the Trade Unions Ordinance, bap. 332 Laws of stong Kong. The Association is the largest civil servants' association in Idong Rong and is one of the three main staff Associations recognised by Idong Kong Government for the purpose of consultation.
The Association's objects provide, inter alia," to obtain and maintain just and proper rates of wages, hours of work, and other conditions of labour and generally, to protect the interests of members." It has always been the view of the Association that officers of either sex should receive equal pay for equal work and, pursuant to the objects of the Association's Constitution, the Association on 15th September, 1948 petitioned Idong
