rights to holidays with pay and sickness allowance to employees in the non-industrial sectors, maternity protection, and rest days for men and those women not at present covered by existing legislation. Considerable progress has been made with nearly all these items. Many should be ready for consideration by the Executive Council in the next six months or so. It seems likely that the item on maternity protection related to I.L.0. convention 3 will be the first to be ready in the near future.

No progress has been made on the Illegal Strikes and Lockouts. (Amendment) Bill, the text of which was sent to you in November 1968. In spite of several reminders no advice has been received and further progress on this subject has been held up for almost a year.

A copy of the Trade Union Registration (Amendment) Bill was sent to you last month and a reply is awaited before further progress can be made with this item.

For other items insufficiently significant developments have occurred to justify special mention at this stage.
