I am replying to your letter of the 6th June to I. E. Jones, in which you requested some supplementary information about the nature of the work for which special exemption orders are granted, particularly in the textile industry.

The table below should give you some help. It shows the mumber of women aged 18 years or over and the mumber of girls between 16 and 18, covered by exemption orders. The figures are for March, 1969, as were those quoted in I. E. Jones reply of the 28th April.
