Thereafter the security of that area, as elsewhere in
Asia, should depend chiefly on mutual regional co-operation,
underpinned by the resources of the free world.
Our support will always be behind all who are working
for the peace, the progress and the increasing prosperity
of Asia, and no one should think that Britain has lost any
of its interest in this vast segment ofthe world where we
have been active so long.
