DETAINED IN PEKING
From Mr. Anthony Royle, Conservative
M.P. for Richmond
Sir,-As someone who has been con- tinually raising in the House of Commons Anthony Grey's predicament over the past 18 months in Peking, I strongly support Mr. Sedgwick, who yesterday demolished in de- tail Mr. Rear's allegations against the Hongkong Government.
The Chinese communist journalist Hsieh Ping, who was deeply involved " in violent activities two years ago in Hong- kong, is reported as being about to be released from detention during this weekend.
I trust that the Chinese Government will release Reuters' Correspondent, Anthony Grey, who has committed no crime. been accused of no offence, and has suffered soli- tary confinement for 16 months, having been allowed only one visitor. It is surely time that some humanity is shown to this
innocent man.
Yours faithfully,
ANTHONY ROYLE, Chairman of the All Party Anglo-Hongkong Commit- tee.
House of Commons, Nov. 15.
