I spoke to your Private Office this afternoon and said that Arthur Jones, the Member for South Northants, and I are visiting Australia and the Far East during the Christmas Recess.
We shall be visiting Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore briefly, then spending two weeks in Australia (visiting Canberra and Sydney), and returning back to England via Columbo. I am enclosing a copy of our Itinerary for you to see, giving the relevant dates.
I am wondering whether it would be possible for you to inform our Ambassador and High Commissioners of our impending visit in the hope that it might be possible for us to see them?
I think I should add that we shall be accompanied by our wives and that my 23 year old daughter will also be with us.
I hope that this will not cause you too much trouble, but anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.
