Proposed Visit of Her Royal Highness
The Duchess of Kent to Hong Kong in
1970
The Governor stated that he would be delighted if Her Royal Highness were to visit Hong Kong next year and that the dates proposed for the visit were acceptable. He hoped she would stay with him. However, he would regard the visit as a strictly Army occasion and would not propose to ask her to undertake any local functions. In any event, the date of the visit was rather too close to the Chinese New Year for the arrangement of any such
functions to be desirable.
