Later, however, they requested the revival of the invitations on the grounds that Sir John Houlton would probably be the Speaker of the future Senate. The Bahamian Branch have declined their invitation because agreement was not possible on whether the member should represent the Government or the Opposition. The Association have replied with an offer of two places.
