Dear Mr. Carter,

I was most grateful for the time you gave me yesterday at our meeting of the Cross Harbour Tunnel and I hope that we will succeed in arranging a meeting in the afternoon of Tuesday next, the 30th April. In this connection I have received a cable from Hongkong which confirms that it will be difficult for Mr. Clague to attend a meeting on that afternoon, but I fear that from what you have said it would be very difficult to arrange a meeting at any other time during the course of next week.

In connection with the figures to which you referred during our meeting and your request for an up to date summary showing how these have now been revised, I enclose a statement which I hope will give you the information needed, and which is set out in a similar way to the document to which you referred.

I look forward to seeing you again next week and thank you once more for your ready advice and assistance.

Yours sincerely,

(P. O. SCALES)
