I enclose for your information, with a copy/copies for distribution to the Post(s) with which you are concerned, a list and Memorandum drawn up by the T.U.C. showing the overseas Trade Union Centres who will receive invitations to the T.U.C. Centenary Congress this year, and explaining in broad terms the reasons for the choice made where a choice has been necessary. Invitations are expected to issue within the next
I understand week or two, probably not simultaneously. that there is no present intention of allowing the list to be varied in any way, but also that in those cases and only those cases - where the T.U.C. is satisfied that there is a real financial need, consideration will be given to helping with the fares.
This information has been passed by the T.U.C. to the Overseas Labour Adviser on a strictly confidential basis, and should be used with all discretion.
