Hong Kong
I have been asked by the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions if I would arrange for a joint dele- gation consisting of representatives from the ICFTU, ITS and TUC to meet the Minister to discuss the labour situation in Hong Kong.
The three International Trade Secretariats that have immediate interests in Hong Kong are the International Tex- tile and Garment Workers Federation, International Transport Workers Federation and the Public Services International. It was agreed at a joint meeting between the ICFTU and ITS that the general secretaries of these organisations together with Mr. E. Thornton, General Secretary of the Rochdale Weavers and Winders Association should represent the ITS. The ICFTU will be represented by Mr. M. Paladino, Assistant General Secretary and Mr. A.K. Mukherjee. A representative of the TUC will also be present.
I would be grateful if you would make the necessary arrangements for the delegation to meet the Minister and let me know the date and time when it will be convenient for him to meet them.
Yours sincerely,
More Lorrains
General Secretary.
