Dangerous Goods (Amendment) Bill
This bill provides for centralized control over fireworks,
(iv) Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Amendment) Bill
This bill provides for the maintainance of a register of all persons aged 18 and 19 years employed underground in mines, to comply with ILO convention No 123.
Honourable Members will be asked to advise whether:
(a) they approve in broad general terms the departmental
legislative programme, attached at the Annex, of the Labour Department and the Mines Department; subject to the customary detailed consideration of individual items of legislation when these are referred to the Executive Council;
(b) the Commissioner of Labour may be authorized to make these plans public in broad general terms, by some convenient means.
(The Commissioner of Labour (Mr R. M. HETHERINGTON) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
