77. COMPENSATION IN CASE OF OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE. Certain occupational diseases have been included in the Ordinance by the Workmen's Compensation (Amendment) Ordinance, 1964, and are listed in the Second Schedule to the Ordinance. Incapacity or death of a workmen resulting from an occupational disease must, as soon as possible, be notified orally, or on form 1A (LD 109), by or for him to the employer and, on form 2A (LD 110) by the employer to the Commissioner of Labour. Subject to certain conditions, compensation in respect of such incapacity or death is recrable from the employer to the same extent as in the case of accident arising out of and in the course of employment.
78. The complex provisions of the Ordinance cannot be adequately covered in a brief note and any person wishing information or advice about workmen's compensation should consult the Workmen's Compensation and Overseas Employment Section of the Labour Department.
