5. Both parties agreed that there would be no formal signed agreement but that terms of settlement would be recorded by conciliation officer of Labour Department files. Both parties agreed to make no press announcement and no news of the settlement or its terms have yet appeared in local press.
6. During abortive discussions after Christmas representative of Cotton Industry General Workers Union informed conciliation officer that he had decided to abandon separate negotiations on matters listed in paragraph 5(a) of my telegram No.1192. Representative of management had earlier undertaken to re-examine unilaterally question of night shift allowance.
7. No further discussions will take place in context of temporary agreement of 22nd December or recent settlement of 2nd February.
