We are considering information about the lives of Hong Kong Chinese persons in Britain and would be grateful for answers to the following questions:
(1) How many Hong Kong Chinese are there in Britain?
(2) How many are (a) restaurant operatives (b) students
(c) seamen (at any one particular time) and (a) of other occupations?
(3) Which towns have a particular concentration of
each of the above categories?
(4) We understand 80% of Hong Kong Chinese in
Britain are Hakka. What is the lingua franca? Is Cantonese widely understood and used?
