After consultation with the Board of
Trade Legal Adviser he has given us the following
opinion:
(1) The papers sent with your despatch,
he says, show that the effect upon
the operations of Rediffusion
(Hong Kong) Ltd. was considered by
the Hong Kong Executive Council but
do not make it clear what is their
reason for wishing to deprive the
Company of its right. He suggests
that we should ask for clarification
of this.
(ii) The omission of Section 40(3) of the
1955 Act, coupled with the provision
of Section 4(2) of the draft
Ordinance puts an obstacle in the
/
