ACTING C.S. CALLS FOR VIGILANCE AGAINST TROUBLE MAKERS
Whole Hearted Effort By Public Can Lead To Substantial Progross
Government could and should have on its side millions of pairs of
eyes, alert and vigilant, for any evidence that could lead to the
apprehension of the wicked men who believe that senseless violence can
intimidate us.
This was stated by the Acting Colonial Secretary, the Hon. D.R.
Holmes, when moving the first reading of the Criminal Procedure (Amendment)
Bill, 1967, in the Legislative Council this (Wednesday) afternoon.
Mr. Holmes called for vigilance in the streets, in the tenements,
and alertness to observe
in the blocks of flats, in the countryside;
anything unusual or suspicious, and to report it.
"I am convinced that now is the time when a really whole-hearted
offort by the public at large could lead us to very substantial progress
