At hearing of McGregor's case on 12 January, Counsel made a statement to the effect that the judgment had cleared his client's name and that his standing and integrity had been publicly vindicated He added that his client believed that the time had come for positive efforts to reduce the tensions created since last May and had therefore decided not to press his claim for damages,
