Mass meeting convened by H.K. British Government employees
A joint mass meeting was convened last night by employees of the H.K. British Government, comprising workers in Government Armed Forces and Hospitals, the Marine Department, the Waterworks, the Post Office and the Fire Services. The workers spoke enthusiastically during the rally. In front of the picture of Chairman Mao, they vowed to get ready to respond at any time to the great call of the Fatherland, and to answer the call of the Anti-Persecution Struggle Committee of All Circles, in order to crush the rule of H.K. British imperialism.
Amidst thunderous applause, the Chairman of the rally delivered a speech. On behalf of the employees of the H.K. British Government, he offered a lofty revolutionary salute to the Marine Department workers who stood on the battle-front. He said, "For a long period, we so-called civil servants' have been oppressed and swindled by British imperialism. We can no longer forbear. The H.K. British authorities persecuted our compatriots with Fascist measures. We
civil servants' are aflame with rage."
