Attention Glover.

An application for an Order to suspend three Communist newspapers in Hong Kong was granted by a Magistrate at Central Court yesterday afternoon. The newspapers are the Tin Fung Yat Po, Hong Kong Evening News, and Afternoon News.

The suspension, which comes into immediate effect, will last until the termination of Court proceedings against the publishers and the printer.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Dermot Rea, told the Magistrate, Mr. Light, that when the publishers and printer of the three newspapers came up in Court on 10 August, he expressed the hope, on behalf of the Attorney General, that the alleged offences would not be repeated. Otherwise application for the newspapers suspension would be made. Mr. Rea said after that day the three papers again committed similar alleged offences.

Hong Kong had a quiet day yesterday with no incident at the border and no major disturbance in urban areas. During the day, three bombs were found and two explosions occurred in the early morning,
