I am replying to your letter of the 28th July
which you wrote to George Thomas and with which you
enclosed a letter from one of your constituents, Mrs.
Olive Lewis.
Your letter has, to some extent, now been overtaken
by events and you will no doubt have seen in the news-
papers here that the Hong Kong Government have recently
taken action to deal with certain sections of the
Communist Press.
The whole question of the activities of the
Communist Press in Hong Kong has been the subject of
consultation between the Hong Kong Government and this
Office and I can assure you that the matter is well in
hand.
