Attention Glover.

Police yesterday carried out a number of search operations of Communist premises including offices and workshops of three suspended Communist newspapers.

In search of Communist newspaper premises in Connaught Road central police seized a number of inflammatory posters. There was no (repeat no) resistance. Thirty four persons were detained for questioning but all were later released.

Other search operations were carried out on a number of premises mainly Communist stores in Taipo in new territories. Some inflammatory newspapers were seized and one safe was removed for investigations. Two men were detained under emergency regulations.

In Kowloon, English secretary of Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Mr. Cheung Ah: Chun was detained by police for enquiries. he was arrested at his home in Ko Shan Road.
