had met Mr. X.
I told Mr. Gordon the circumstances of the meeting
as stated above. I was asked by Mr. Gordon how many times I had met
Mr. X after the War other than the meeting already mentioned. I
stated as far as I could remember I must have met Mr. X in the street
several times on several occasions during the years. I could not
remember whether or not I had greeted him, but I am certain that I
have had no conversation whatsoever with him. I wish to say that in
1961 I have frequently visited Happy Valley area in the course of my
duties. I have made telephone reports on each of those visits and I
understand my reports have been taken down in writing. On the following
day I submitted a written report. As far as I can remember I have
never been to the Ying King Restaurant during 1961 except on 1st
October when I visited the restaurant in the evening to observe a
Communist meeting. During the 2 years prior to 1961 I visited the
Ying King Restaurant on duty only, that means on the Communist
National Days and Labour Days only. I went there for tea or dinner
approximately 3 years ago.
As far as I can remember I visited the Sing Chow Restaurant
quite frequently in 1955 when there was a Special Branch office
situated at the Tonnochy Hotel. I have never been there since.
As far as I can remember I last visited the Hong Kong
Restaurant some time in September 1961, but I avoided this restaurant
since I heard a wireless broadcast saying that there was some foot-
ball racket being fixed by some people in that restaurant.
In September 1961 or before that time I used to meet my girl friend in the 1st floor of the Hong Kong Restaurant by appointment,
usually after 1700 hours. I never went there alone nor was there
any one present except me and my girl friend.
I have never been to the Sun Sun Restaurant, Lockhart Road.
As far as I remember my last visit to the Jackson Cafe was
in 1950.
I remember I visited the Tai Tung Restaurant in early 1960
usually after 1500 hours with the same girl friend I referred to at
the Hong Kong Restaurant. I usually had tea there on the ground floor.
I deny all the allegations against me given by
YAM Sai Ping,
and
I have nothing else
to say.
