EXPLANATORY NOTE
At the time of the hearing of the Defaulter Proceedings in this case, active Special Branch enquiries were continuing
into other security aspects involved. At the Defaulter Proceedings full names, addresses and identities of persons and addresses con-
cerned were used. However, for security reasons code names were
used for certain personalities and addresses in the typed version of the transcript. The coaed typed version (of which a copy is attached) was used for follow-up administrative and disciplinary
action.

Proceedings opened in ACP/K's office at 1035 hours, 28th December, 1961, the accused S/Sgt. II CHU Leung being present.
The charges were read over to S/Sgt. II CHU Leung in English and Chinese (Cantonese), each one separately. He stated that he
understood each charge. The charges are attached here to.
S/Sgt. II CHU Leung stated in answer to ACP/K's questions that he had no objection to ACP/K, Mr. N.G. Rolph, as Enquiring Officer, or
to Mr. M. O'Sullivan as Prosecuting Officer, or to Mr. HAU King To,
Inspector, as Interpreter.
S/Sgt. II CHU Leung was told to appear before ACP/K at 1100 hours,
29th December, 1961, for the recording of his pleas in respect of
each of the charges attached hereto.
Proceedings adjourned at 1058 hours.
