Your letter of 8 February about the case of
Chu Leung has been referred to me.
I share your desire for a speedy conclusion to
this matter. But it is a most difficult case, involving
a very careful legal examination of all the proceedings,
and it has been necessary both here and in Hong Kong
to review it in all its aspects.
We are now in the final stages of our re-considera-
tion and I hope that shortly I shall be able to let you
know our decision.
