I shall be in London at the latter end of next week (March 7th
and 8th) for Conferences at the Board of Trade with our Director of Civil
Aviation. Denys Roberts has suggested that I call on you to discuss
one or two matters and this letter is to give you advance notice.
I
will telephone your office on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week to fix
an appointment if I may.
2.
A telegram has been sent by H.E. asking that I may be allowed
to take up the vexed problem of the changes we propose in our
Disciplinary Code and I shall have with me a rough draft of the
Establishment Regulations on this subject as we should like to see them.
3.
The other immediate problem concerns a Staff Sergeant CHU in respect of whom P.Q8. were asked by Patrick Jenkin, M.P. in 1966 and again in June and November of last year. In December, Hall of
the Commonwealth Office wrote to H.E. about this, and followed this
up by a further note in February of this year. I happen to be an
old friend of Patrick Jenkin's naval brother, and if you think it
would help I should be willing to see Jenkin. I was concerned in the
case back in 1963.
