I would be grateful for some indication whether my recommendation is likely to be approved for the creation of a Commercial Assistant (Information) post. (My E/5/1 of 15th December refers). I now have an offer from a leading Chinese language newspaper to publish a supplement this Autumn on British trade with South East Asia. must refuse it however if I am not going to get this appointment.
